Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

SNAP is a governmental program that helps families in need to supplement their food budgets so they can have access to healthy foods to eat. Healthy food shouldn’t be a luxury. Everyone needs proper nutrition, and this program gives families the boost they need during tough times to afford foods to keep them healthy.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

WIC is a program that focuses on low-income, pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, infants, and children 4 and under to have access to nutritious foods and nutrition education as well as health care. WIC foods include things like infant cereal, vitamin C-rich fruit or vegetable juice, eggs, milk, cheese, peanut butter, canned fish, tofu, and baby foods to name a few.

Food Supplement and Free Bread

Our food pantry provides free bread and fresh produce when available as well as food for individuals who are unable to get assistance through food stamps or for those whose food assistance is insufficient. Those who qualify for our food pantry will be given a card that’s good for monthly food stamp visits for 1-6 months, stamped each time they visit. Low-sugar/low-salt diets and allergies are accommodated. We purchase food from the Capital Area Food Bank and receive donations of food from Beltsville Seventh-day Adventist Church members as well as local retailers.

Free Computer Usage

A computer or internet access is something that not everyone can afford which can put those in search of work at a huge disadvantage. BACC offers computer access that is free for guests for general use which can give users access to résumé preparation and job applications or for access to computer classes that offer beginner and intermediate certifications in Microsoft Office that could help our guests in obtaining work. Our computer lab also offers access to SAIL (Service Access and Information Link) for Prince George’s DSS Services. Additionally, our computers are open for job searches and accessing Maryland Health Connection for medical assistance.

Grievance and Prayer Support

Coping with feelings of grief is unique to each individual. There’s no set schedule or blueprint for how someone deals with grief; it is a complex and deeply personal process. We have an on-site chaplain available to give spiritual guidance and prayer and to simply listen to you.
